Promote and advance the science and practices of civil engineering and related professions for sustainable developments in the Asian region;

Establish and expand partnerships with worldwide civil engineering societies/institutions to exchange ideas and information;

Address timely and topical civil engineering related products, processes, and procedures;

Identify new technologies/knowledge ready for transfer into practice;

Identify and discuss civil engineering technology needs, issues, and practices for the early decades of the 21 st century;

Develop programs of coordination and mutual action in designated matters affecting the interests of civil engineers and related professions;

Identify education and workforce training-related needs of the design/construction industry and civil engineering profession;

Create network with leaders of the worldwide design and construction community;

Understand trade issues affecting:

 

- New technological development and practices

- New trade related intellectual properties

- Streamlining of administrative aspects

- Balance between the private and public sectors

 

 

 

The common goal for the Asian countries is the Sustainable Development in the 21 st Century. To achieve this goal, the 2 nd CECAR will focus upon the following seven main themes:

Construction Management and Funding

Urban & Regional Planning and Construction

Environment and Disaster

Energy and Water Resources

Transportation and Urban Development Systems

 

 

 

Each theme will consider those technologies needed to improve civil engineering practices through innovations and new design and construction processes.
